Bloomberg reports that VirnetX was awarded $502.6 million in a patent trial against Apple on April 10, 2018. Bloomberg said Apple's FaceTime, iMessage, and VPN on Demand features are said to infringe on four VirnetX patents related to communications security.

VirnetX is an Internet security software and technology Company with patented technology for securing real-time communications over the Internet including 4G LTE security.

VirnetX is established in 2005 and CEO is Kendall Larsen since June 10, 2007.
